In the weekend of 22-24 february, six teams travelled to Amsterdam for the Global Legal Hackathon. Participants came from the Netherlands, Belgium, Lithunia and even India. Guided by a jury of experts from all areas of the legal industry, they each put in 52 hours of serious work to develop an innovative tech product for the legal market. We are very grateful to the teams:

  1. Team Mr. Franklin
  2. Team ‘t is van da
  3. Team Hyarchis
  4. Team Huddle Up
  5. Team Nintec
  6. Team A bit Legal

After a lot of hacking, two short nights, and a pitch training, the teams presented their ideas on sunday afternoon. The diversity of the pitches underlined how much opportunities there are for improving the legal profession, both for consumers and for businesses.

After some serious deliberation, the jury was able to select their winner. Jurymember Joeri van Andel (Vodafone Ziggo): “The jury selected Team Hyarchis because they demonstrated a technology that can be applied directly, and that truly improves the quality of legal knowledge of its users. The technology integrates sources of legal knowledge into the tools that legal professionals use, such as Word and Outlook. Areas of improvement are the relevance of the information that is presented, and also functionality that allows users to include their own sources in the results. “

Thanks again to all teams, the jury, Wolters Kluwer for the organisation, and ARAG for the pitch training.
